Trekking to Langtang provides the perfect environments of rivers, forests and high soaring peaks. Witnessing the Tamangs attired in traditional Tibetan gowns adds to the rich cultural experience. This trek is a great choice for nature lovers and adventurers alike.
The valley is situated in Langtang National Park (the first one in the country), and can be linked with the Sherpa dominant valley of Helembu either by Gosainkunda Pass (4,610m/15,167ft) or by Ganja La pass (5,106m/16,799ft). While Gosainkunda Pass is commonly used by trekkers to traverse to Helambu, Ganja La Pass has always been a concern of trekkers. Crossing the Ganja La Pass with unfavorable weather conditions can make trekking to Langtang one of the most challenging treks in Nepal. Good equipment and knowledge of mountaineering is a prerequisite for this trek.

Day 1: Delhi

Arrive late in the evening at Indira Gandhi International airport and transfer to your hotel. I recommend booking a room at the Radisson as it is the closest hotel to the airport and provides airport transfers. (Remember that your stay in Delhi is not included in your trek cost). Also, you can choose to fly directly to Kathmandu if it is more convenient from your departure point.

Day 2: Kathmandu
Fly to Kathmandu's Tribhuvan International airport and be met by a member of our crew. We will be driven to our hotel and later go on a familiarization walk with one of our guides.
Yoga practice in the afternoon

Day 3: Kathmandu
Morning yoga at 6:30 before breakfast
Spend the day on a guided tour of sacred Tibetan stupas and monasteries.
Overnight in hotel

Day 4: Syabrubesi (1,550m/5,100ft)
Morning yoga at 6:30 before breakfast
We drive 145km (10 hrs) through the northern foothills of the Himalayas with views of terraced fields and rustic villages, typical to Nepal. The drive gets rugged as the vehicle starts to propel up to Dhunche (2,030m), from here the road descends to Syabrubesi.
Overnight in guesthouse

Day 5: Lama Hotel (2,380m/7,830ft)
Morning yoga at 6:30 before breakfast
Our first days trek is 12.5km (6hrs). The trail from Syabrubesi follows the Langtang River Valley, copious with oak trees and wedged between the rocky mountains. From Bamboo Lodge, an ideal place for lunch, the trail ascends to Rimche. The trail descends gently from here to the Lama Hotel.
Overnight in tents

Day 6: Langtang (3,500m/11,515ft)
Morning yoga at 6:30 before breakfast
The trail traverses up and down through the forest and later reaches Ghoratabela. Following, there is a short ½ hour climb that will bring us to a pass to the right of where the Langtang Valley begins. Total trekking for the day is 13.5km/7hrs.
Overnight stay in tents

Day 7: Kyangjin Gompa (3,890m/12,798ft)
Morning yoga at 6:30 before breakfast
Trek 8.5km (4hrs) from Langtang to Kyangjin Gompa. You might feel little bit of altitude but the trail ascends gently.
Overnight stay in tents

Day 8: Kyangjin Gompa
Morning yoga at 6:30 before breakfast
There are two options for how to spend the day. You can choose to rest and have an excursion around Kyangjin Gompa, or you can climb the peak of nearby Tsergo Ri (5,033m/16,559ft).
Overnight stay in tents

Day 9: Ngegang (4,000m/13,160ft)
Morning yoga at 6:30 before breakfast
Trek 4.5km (4hrs) from Kyangjin Gompa to Ngegang. This is the last good camping place before arriving at Helambu.
Overnight stay in tents

Day 10: Keldang (4,270m/14,048ft)
We will leave early in the morning to cross Ganja-La Pass (5,160m/16,930ft) before the sun gets to high in the sky. This will obviously be one of the more strenuous trekking days (16km/8-9hrs), so remember to breathe and pace your self. After crossing the pass the route descends to a small stream at 4,400m. Following the stream we reach Keldang (4,280m), where we will stop for the night and camp.
Yoga practice in the afternoon
Overnight stay in tents

Day 11: Dukpu (4,080m/13,423ft)
Morning yoga at 6:30 before breakfast
Trek 7km (6-7hrs) to Dukpu, a summer settlement for the villagers of Helambu. This will be a long day of walking along the ridge.
Overnight stay in tents

Day 12: Tarke Ghyang (2,600m/8,554ft)
Morning yoga at 6:30 before breakfast
Trek 11.5km (6hrs) to Tarke Ghyang. From Dukpu the trail descends along the ridge, before climbing to the pass where we will have views of the Dorje Lakpa Range. The trail further descends, often steeply, to Tarke Ghyang Village (largest Sherpa settlements in Helambu).
Overnight stay in tents

Day 13: Kakanidada (1,900m/6,251ft)
Morning yoga at 6:30 before breakfast
Trek 7 hours to Kakanidada. From Tarke Ghyang a gradual flat trail winds through pine and rhododendron forest to the attractive villages of Gangjwal and Shermathang. The walk, though long (20km/7hrs), is beautiful through the forest as the trail remains high above the Melamchi River Valley. From Shermathang the trail descends gradually along the ridge to Kakanidada.
Overnight stay in tents

Day 14: Kathmandu
Morning yoga at 6:30 before breakfast
Trek 10.5km/3hrs to Melamchi Pull Bazaar. The trail descends steeply along the ridge to the confluence of the Melamchi and Indrawati River. As we descend, the Dorje Lakpa Range looms stunningly to the north. From Melamchi Bazaar we will drive 102km/4hrs back to Kathmandu.
Check into hotel

Day 15: Kathmandu
Morning yoga at 6:30 before breakfast
Spend the day sightseeing in Kathmandu or take a free day and rest or go shopping.
Overnight in hotel

Day 16: Delhi
Morning yoga at 6:30 before breakfast
Transfer to International Airport and fly back to Delhi. (Be sure to book an early enough flight to allow for any travel delays, especially if you are flying out from Delhi late night/early morning).
