Day 1: New Delhi
Arrive in New Delhi late evening, and drive to Mussoorie (about seven hours) a lovely hill station, which gives you your first views of the snowy peaks. Upon arrival, check in at guesthouse, rest and have a late breakfast or early lunch. The day is yours to unwind and acclimate to your new surroundings.
Yoga class will be held in the afternoon before dinner.
Day 2: Mussoorie (1,921m/6,320ft)
Morning yoga at 6:30 before breakfast
Optional walking tour to Cloud's End or Everest House. Return to Mussoorie by motor transport after having lunch.

Day 3: Uttarkashi (1,158m/3,809ft)

Drive (approx. 7hrs) north from Mussoorie on a beautiful ridge road through Devdar groves at Dhanolti, and then along the banks of the Bhagirathi River to the holy town of Uttarkashi. Uttarkashi is a famous destination for pilgrims going to Gangotri and an important center for yogis and sadhus.

Day 4: Uttarkashi

Group will walk to the Vishwanath temple in the main part of Uttarkashi (5km) and return to Guesthouse after darshan (view).

Day 5: Belak (2,570m/8,455ft)

A 30 minute drive to Lata takes us to where we start the trek, descending 200m to cross a bridge over the Bhagirathi River. The 16km (8 hrs) trek is all up hill, long and strenuous. It is important to maintain a steady pace while enjoying the scenery!

Day 6: Kush Kalyan (3,180m/10,462ft)

Trek 14km (6 hrs) up and down hill through forests and bugyals (meadows) to camp at Kush Kalyan. The views are superb and truly breathtaking!

Day 7: Meadow camp (3,267m/10,750ft)

Today is a short (5km/4 hrs) but steep hike to the higher meadows at Kyarki. It is an up and down trek (up to 11,460ft) before finally reaching camp.

Day 8: Kyarki (3,780m/12,436ft)

This 5km (4 hrs) steep trek takes us through higher meadows where we shall encounter herds of sheep and goats grazing. These herds are looked after by trained sheep dogs (a local breed called gaddi). The shepherds and their always interesting herding dogs are sure to be visiting, making the campsite all the more enjoyable. The surrounding peaks (weather and clouds permitting) from this campsite make one want to laze around taking it all in.

Day 9: Mamla Tal (4,050m/13,325ft)
Morning yoga at 6:30 before breakfast
Today we trek 16km (8hrs) with an initial steep ascent/descent and then traverse for a while. We will make our final push up to the ridge (4,300m/14,147ft) which offers amazing panoramic views of Mt. Kalanag (6,837m/20,955ft), Mt. Jaonli (6,632m/21,753ft) and Mt. Banderpunch (6,316m/20,722ft) among others, before descending and then traversing to our campsite. Mamla Tal is a beautiful little lake situated at the base of a hill.

Day 10: Sahastra (Darshan) Tal (5,000m/16,450ft) and beyond Gaumukhi Tal

This is a full day's trek approximately 20km (8-9 hrs). First we trek up to Darshan Tal a mythical lake revered by pilgrims. Here we will remove our shoes and take a tender walk over rocks to have darshan of the lake. You may bathe in the waters (a must for pilgrims), before making offerings to Lord Shiva at the small altar there. We go on to Gaumukhi Tal (all up hill of course) before descending towards the trail which leads to Khatling Glacier. We will make camp before joining the new trail midway between Kalyani and Kharsoli.

Day 11: Kharsoli (2,900m/9,541ft)

Today we trek 11km (6-7 hrs) through rhododendron and spruce forests to the meadow at Kharsoli, surrounded by giant conifers and oaks.

Day 12: Khatling Cave (3,600m/11,810ft)

It is a short trekking day of 4-5 hours (12km), but all up hill to Khatling Cave. We will trek along the Bhilang Ganga River, through an enchanting forest and view magnificent waterfalls along the way.

Day 13: Khatling Glacier (3,710ft/12,205ft)/Bhelbagi (3,110m/10,200ft)

We will get an early start on exploring Khatling Glacier (6km return) before trekking an additional 9km to Bhelbagi.

Day 14: Gangi (2,584m/8,480ft)
Morning yoga at 6:30 before breakfast
Trek 18km to Gangi Village, a small and remote settlement. From here one has a fabulous view of the Panwali Ridge in the east.

Day 15: Ghuttu
Morning yoga at 6:30 before breakfast
Trek 20km (6 hrs) from Gangi Village to Ghuttu.
We will halt here for the night and have a nice hot bath.

Pack up and depart by 10:00 for the 145km (6 hr) drive back to Mussoorie.

Spend the day relaxing and getting things together for your return. This evening we will spend celebrating the end of our journey.

Day 18: New Delhi

We will say our goodbyes and depart for Delhi. Most flights leave between midnight and 2:00AM, so you can rest for a while at the Radisson Hotel and wash up before going to the airport.
Cost per person: US $4,250 based on a 4-person group, US $3,750 based on a 6-person group.
